Shell Energy Stadium is the Houston Dynamo's soccer-specific home in the East Downtown (EaDo) neighborhood. It opened in 2012, holds just over 22,000 fans, and was one of the earlier examples of MLS building purpose-built urban venues rather than sharing with NFL teams. The atmosphere in the supporter section behind the south goal — driven by the Dynamo's vocal support groups — is among the more energetic in the league.
EaDo has transformed significantly since the stadium opened, with breweries, bars, and restaurants now clustered in the blocks around the ground. The METRORail Red Line stops directly at EADO/Stadium, making it easy to get here from downtown and the medical center. It's one of the better matchday neighborhoods in MLS — arrive early to enjoy the area before heading in.

Main Concourse - Houston's legendary BBQ institution brings their slow-smoked brisket and jalapeño cheese bread to Shell Energy Stadium. A Houston institution with decades of tradition.
Section 112 - Authentic Houston taqueria-style tacos made fresh. The al pastor and barbacoa tacos are exceptional and represent the deep taco culture Houston is rightfully famous for.
Throughout the Stadium - Texas's oldest craft brewery pours their Fancy Lawnmower Kölsch and rotating taps at Dynamo matches. A Houston craft beer staple.
Shell Energy Stadium sits just east of downtown Houston with the city skyline visible beyond the open north end. On clear Houston evenings, the skyline view from the south end is a genuinely attractive backdrop for a soccer match.
The Dynamo's supporter group El Capitán is among MLS's most creative when it comes to tifo displays. The south end of Shell Energy Stadium comes alive with massive banners, smoke, and coordinated chants that reflect Houston's passionate Latino soccer culture.
Houston Dynamo's supporter sections 115–116 and 215–217 at Shell Energy Stadium are home to El Capitán and allied groups. Standing, drums, flags, and Spanish-language chants create one of MLS's most culturally distinctive supporter atmospheres. Non-Dynamo apparel is not permitted in the supporter sections.
